This 1880-1890s Hopi canteen is something special. It’s painted with beautiful imagery of an eagle, rain clouds, and corn motifs and is made with in the polacca style. Polacca is classic Hopi type of pottery, and is identifiable by the crazing or craquelure on the surface. The fact that this piece is still intact after almost 130 years is something to celebrate.
